ABOUT TAMARA

Tamara is a musical director, currently based in London, England.  Her work has been seen across the UK and internationally.  She is originally from Toronto, Canada where she worked within the  Canadian  theatre industry before relocating to London in 2016. 

Tamara is a trained classical pianist.  She studied for fifteen years under the tutelage of Marina Geringas and Susan Hall at the Royal Conservatory of Toronto.  She was then accepted in to the prestigious  Glenn Gould School  within the Conservatory of Toronto. Later, Tamara went on earn a Masters degree in Musical Direction from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  

Her work as a musical director encompasses full-scale productions, workshops, readings, cabarets and concerts.  Outside of Musical Direction she also works as an arranger and orchestrator.

Tamara is very passionate about supporting the development of new musical theatre.  She is fortunate to collaborate with a number of composers within London and around the world.  She regularly leads development work, has done over 25 workshops of new work and supports as both a musical director/supervisor, musical dramaturg, and arranger.  

She is the resident Musical Director for Signal, a concert series curated by director Adam Lenson.  Signal happens quarterly at The Hospital Club in the West End and showcases brand new and innovative writing from an exciting array of British writers.  All material presented at Signal is a world premier. 

Tamara guest lectures at several colleges including Arts Ed, Trinity Laban, Mountview, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, LAMDA, PPA, WAC , Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Associated Studios.
